We have created this exciting position which would suit a budding entrepreneur. After completion of an 18 months training program, the successful candidate will be able to operate and run a SME like Strathearn Cheese Co.
Duties and responsibilities:
Cheesemaking: you will be trained to all aspects of butter and cheesemaking. Answering to the Production Manager you will offer assistance to the team with cheesemaking and maintenance, wrapping, cleaning, etc.
Deliveries: You will share our deliveries (2 to 3 days per week) to customers from the Company Van. You will sell from the van, invoice customers, email invoices, collect cash and keep excellent customer relations.
Farmers' markets: You will attend regular farmers' markets, selling to the general public, handing cash and using a portable card terminal. You will record your cash sales and credit card transactions on our accounting software.
Purchasing: you will have purchasing authority to order and buy cleaning chemicals, packaging, ingredients, small equipment, oatcakes and guest cheeses. You will also check our suppliers' prices and check them against other suppliers on a regular basis.
Financial: you will have full access to our accounting software, raising invoices, sending statements, reconciling payments, paying invoices. You will also submit wages to our payroll administrator.
You will: Hold a full and clean driving license, be enthusiastic and willing to develop sales, have a pleasant disposition and be customer focused.
We will: offer you full in-house and external training, encourage you to develop and give you the tools and support to hold 2 cheese related events per year of your choosing.
Offer you minimum wage with a structured training plan for 18 months. After your training period, you rate of pay will be increased.
